On Friday 15th December 2017, Talent Insight Group Directors Glen Hall, Tim Gleave and David Steel volunteered at the Cash For Kids’ Mission Christmas warehouse in Team Valley, Newcastle.
Cash for Kids supports the thousands of children across the North East of England who suffer abuse or neglect, are disabled and have special needs or who simply need extra care or guidance.
A special focus for Christmas
Mission Christmas is the largest annual Christmas toy appeal in the UK. With 1 in 4 children across the UK living in poverty this December, for many families Christmas is simply a luxury they can’t afford.
Working closely with social workers, head teachers and the emergency services (who nominate families in crisis to be supported by the appeal), Mission Christmas aims to help as many children as possible by distributing thousands of Christmas presents donated by local businesses and the general public.
Our involvement and opportunity to give something back
It was a privilege for Glen, Tim and David to spend some time unpacking donated toys and creating orders for children of all ages who otherwise might not receive a Christmas gift this year.
Glen Hall, Chairman of Talent Insight Group, said, “It was a humbling experience for Tim, David and myself to spend time working in the Mission Christmas warehouse. A remarkable team of dedicated people who really understand and care about those children who will benefit from the kindness of strangers”.
This year Mission Christmas has raised £2.7m and supported over 54,000 children, which is a wonderful achievement.
