It has definitely been a case of ‘best foot forward’ in the Gleave household in recent weeks.
On Saturday 5th June, Tim’s wife Linsey completed a 55km Ultra Marathon in just under seven hours!
The run started at Derwenthaugh Park in Gateshead and headed along the south side of the Tyne to the Millennium Bridge, before crossing over to the North side, heading towards Wylam and then back to Derwenthaugh Park.
This was an incredible achievement, given both the distance and the temperature on the day – it was incredibly hot. Remarkably, the below photo of Linsey and her inspirational friend was taken just after the finish!
On the day, Linsey raised £610 for St Oswalds Hospice, which TIG has matched by way of a donation. She therefore raised over £1,200 for the hospice, which provides specialist care to adults, young people, children and babies.
Inspired by this achievement, Tim decided to participate in the 2021 Retro Great North Run on Saturday 26th June.
This event was organised to celebrate the Great North Run’s 40th birthday, which was on Monday 28th June. It gave participants the chance to re-live the first Great North Run virtually, the challenge being to complete the 13.1 mile distance anytime between 26th and 28th June.
Tim chose to complete the full distance in one go, walking to Blyth beach and back from his home, in a very respectable 3 hours 53 minutes. Well done, Tim!
TIG is very proud of both Linsey and Tim’s inspirational efforts.
One of our values as a business is that we care. That not only applies to our clients and our team, but also to the wider community.
