Our idea helped get young people active and raised essential funds to help Royal Grammar School bursary families.
Having read on social media about the challenges they were facing, we devised a “Sporting Challenge” where students be sponsored to run, cycle or participate in other challenges to raise funds. The money will help students to have the best education opportunities and gives access to those who otherwise would be excluded due to their financial situation.
The students really stepped up to help, between them running more than 500km and cycling more than 1,000km. Others took up other challenges, taking 500 wickets, completing 300 cross bars, finishing 3000 rallies, catching 1000 rugby balls or doing 500 rugby bag tackles or bouncing a ball on a bat thousands of times. Whole families got involved to make a real difference.
Glen Hall, who came up with the idea for the challenge, said, “Giving back is a central part of our business and our values. We believe in making a difference where we can – by offering exceptional client service, supporting our team and donating a percentage of our profits to charity.
“In this respect, the RGS Bursary Campaign provides a first-class education. Where access to great teaching, facilities and the creation of deep friendships, delivered by passionate teachers can be life changing.”
This is just one of the ways that Talent Insight Group lives our values of caring about our community.
The scheme is supported entirely by voluntary donations and has helped almost 400 students since its launch in 2002. There are currently 76 RGS students who benefit from bursary funding, the vast majority on a 100% bursary to support those in greatest need. Read more about the campaign here.
